The Place Where Everything is Possible

In the Spiritual World, is it Possible…?

There is a very simple answer to all questions about the spiritual world. A very simple one. In the spiritual world everything is possible. That is the nature of the spiritual world. This is the place where everything is possible. And one of the things that is possible … it is not likely, but it is possible, because if it wouldn’t be, it wouldn’t be the spiritual world … is that one leaves the spiritual world.

But the material world, as Śrīla Prabhupada says, is just like a big cloud within the spiritual sky. So, if you are in the middle of a cloud, are you out of the sky? Are you no longer in the sky? No. You are in the sky. You are in the cloud, which can be a dangerous situation, but you are still in the sky.

Śrīla Prabhupada makes this point that we are at this very moment – although we are certainly not aware of it – in the spiritual world. We just need to realize it.

Suffering and Enjoying of the Mind

Sometimes the mind is identified as one of the senses. It is actually a kind of organizing principle of the senses, but it is also seen as the sixth sense. Suffering of the mind is linked to the suffering of the other senses.

Our experiences of suffering are on the temporary platform because the senses and sense objects are always changing. And this means that we are trying to enjoy separately of Krishna, so we are putting ourselves in His place. This also means we are forgetting who is the actual enjoyer. And that is our whole problem in this world: we are forgetting that Krishna is the actual enjoyer.

When I first joined the devotees and heard that Krishna is the enjoyer, I thought, “Ah, this is such a relief!” No one had ever told me this before. If somebody had told me this some years before, it could have saved me so much trouble. All that time I wasted, thinking, “I have to be the enjoyer! But it is really difficult, it is not working!”
