It is as a token of our gratitude that we offer Śrīla Prabhupāda these reflections on specific passages of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Canto Four. With this publication, we continue our ongoing "experiment" of encouraging Bhāgavatam readers to reflect on their reading—by writing.

This fourth volume (the largest of the series so far) is, I dare say, proving our experiment to be successful. I, for one, have been blessed to gain so many insights from these writings, which each in themselves demonstrate that the authors—all dedicated devotees of Lord Kṛṣṇa—have entered deeply into the passages to which they have responded in their writings.

The success of the experiment will be further demonstrated when devotees who read these reflections become inspired to read or re-read the Bhāgavatam and then, possibly, to write their reflections on what they have read. What I especially appreciate about the contributions to this volume is how devotees have reflected about their own spiritual lives. (Krishna Kshetra Swami)
